Annulment/Nullity

Annulment also referred to as the Judgment of Nullity is the process of voiding the marriage as if it never existed. If you were never married before, and were referred to as 'unmarried" after annulment of marriage you can still report to be unmarried rather than divorced.

Marriage that is incestuous or bigamous is void.

It is voidable, but not void on its face for reasons of: age at time of marriage, prior existing marriage, unsound mind, fraud, force, and physical incapacity. To annul the marriage more evidence is required than to obtain a divorce judgment. It can only be nullified for the reasons explained above.
